The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development continues to fulfil the needs and requirements of local businesses exporting from the emirate of Abu Dhabi. ADDED’s aim is to help increase the volume of foreign trade between the Emirate and its trading partners around the world and increase the amount of local exports, helping the balance of trade. In order to achieve this goal, the Department offers a bouquet of services and supporting initiatives such as opening up new markets, facilitating cross-border trade, developing communication channels with international buyers and promoting locally produced products in various international forums.
The Department of Economic Development works to support UAE goods and services through the participation of local companies in specialised exhibitions abroad and trade delegations to international markets, with the aim of opening markets to local production and building a link between international exporters and buyers through bilateral business meetings.

The Department contributes, in cooperation with government and semi-governmental entities, to raise awareness of exporters and those wishing to export by offering a series of training courses, seminars and workshops that serve to enhance the presence of their products and services in local and international markets, and to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of their enterprises to increase export preparedness. Communication with Exporters
The Department contributes to overcoming the complications and obstacles that exporters may face during the export process, whether inside or outside the country, and seeks to contribute to facilitating export procedures for manufacturers by cooperating with strategic partners locally and internationally through periodic visits to exporters and opening channels of communication. Several field visits are held for local exporters and the challenges they face related to export are accounted for, with a periodic report on visits and challenges facing exporters submitted, and a study prepared, to resolve these obstacles.
Economic agreements and memorandums of understanding
The government of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi is keen to strengthen its international partnerships with all countries of the world by being open to investment in several economic sectors, through a package of incentives that support governments and multinational companies.
Aligning with this approach, the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) works to enhance its legislative role through the implementation of agreements and Memorandums of Understanding MOUs, with worldwide strategic partners, based on laws and legislations issued at the federal level of the UAE and the local level of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi Government.
